Welcome to Snow Wolf`s Den!

Welcome to the home of the Snow Wolf. On this web site you will find online snowboarding instruction, equipment reviews and trip reports.

Welcome to my site. My name is Scott and I am your host. I have been an AASI certified snowboard instructor since 2005 working at Mt. Hood Meadows Resort on Mt. Hood in the state of Oregon. Since learning to snowboard in 2004, I have focused primarily on free ride and all mountain riding as well as back country split boarding. As a back country rider, I hold the Canadian Avalanche Center Level One certificate.

Since 2006, I have been climbing the Cascade volcanoes and snowboarding down during the spring and summer months. I have made the summit of Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helen’s multiple times and each run provides the same stoke as the first. Beginning in 2010 in an unofficial capacity I have been guiding friends and coworkers on these trips to share the stoke with fellow snowboarders. Beginning in 2007, I have been riding regularly in Alaska at Alyeska and up in Fairbanks at Mt. Aurora Skiland. Every trip I make it to Hatcher Pass in the Talkeetna Range for some split boarding.

Beginning in early 2011, I began testing and reviewing snowboards beginning with the 2012 Never Summer Heritage and have slowly expanded my operation 2012 with several new boards and bindings. I look forward to riding prototype equipment and publishing reviews in order to provide my fellow riders with first hand opinions of the new equipment coming on line each year.

As an instructor, I am always stoked to share my love of snowboarding with people who are trying it for the first time to the advanced rider looking to take their riding to the next level. I am acutely aware that not everyone has access  instructors and ski schools due to location or financial conditions. I am a firm believer in sharing this knowledge and passion for free and to that end, have published articles and videos related to snowboarding instruction.

Having said that, I am a firm believer in the value of taking actual lessons from a certified instructor if at all possible. No book, article or video can be a substitute for the one on one exchange that you will get from a highly trained and motivated instructor. While I will provide my materials here free of charge, I would encourage everyone to take lessons if they can.

Other than Snowboarding, my other recreational passions are white water rafting, back packing and flying private aircraft. This site will contain a section for these passions as well.
