Today was a glorious day at Mt. Hood meadows. We had blue bird skies, calm winds and cold temperatures. The snow was variable with boiler plate rain crust that had been wind polished in exposed areas and deep powder stashes in sheltered areas. They opened lower Heather Canyon for the first time this year and I lapped it most of the afternoon. Since this was the first time I have seen blue sky and sun in over a month, I took the opportunity to snap some better pictures:
